THE PRICE OF PROCRASTINATION This is a very special episode of “The Winning Season” recorded by Jacqueline V. Twillie, host of the #WinningSeason Podcast for the private FB Community.

In this episode, our host stresses on how expensive the price of procrastination could be, and how, by the learnings from this podcast, one could fruitfully deal with it.

She tells us there are 3 areas where procrastination can hit on our lives and how they could strongly affect our productivity. The cost of procrastination as mentioned are:

1. Missed opportunities (10:10)

2. Finances (08:58)

3. Health and Personal well-being (13:04) Procrastination keeps you stuck at a place, perhaps by making you feel that even the other people around you aren’t doing anything. It is also important to know how to negotiate for your finances as and when needed. By procrastinating on how the outcome would have been, if you had negotiated, you’re keeping yourself stuck in your thoughts.

The host describes 3 worthwhile elements that would help you move past procrastination, having garnered sufficient experience helping others who’ve had to deal with the same.

These are 1. Eliminating excuses (18:15)

2. Getting yourself a partner /coach (20:45)

3. Rewarding good behavior (23:45) By being honest to yourself and having a level of self-awareness, you can very efficiently develop the ability to get win-win outcomes.

Getting a partner can help you stay accountable to yourself, could help pick you up when you laze around. Citing a famous quote by Zig Ziglar, which explains that you’re not always going to be motivated, Jaqueline tells us how a coach could help you stay on track. What distinguishes successful and unsuccessful people is that successful people do the things they need to do even when they do not feel like doing it, while unsuccessful people tend to brood over their lack of motivation. It is also very important to reward yourself for your success. The rewards need not be extravagant or expensive. Do anything which makes you happy!

Giving homework toward the close of the session, our host asks you to jot down the list of excuses you’ve been telling yourself all this time. Self-awareness could help you get out of it. “Level up! Do something to invest in yourself today!”

She wanted to, listen, I wouldn't share window shared this series on the podcast and y'all are showing out like y'all love the series. I'm getting DM's on every social media platform that y'all are doing the work.

And I'm just blown away. I'm also blown away because when I'm looking at the back, Side of the podcast. We haven't had this many shares on episodes in a minute. So guess what? I'm going to give y'all more of this is obviously what you like.

Also the feedback. I'm still getting feedback from moving beyond black squares and hashtags. So that conversation with Robert Jasmine and Jody. And y'all are also loving that is giving y'all life and those are some of my heart projects. And when I say our heart, That came from a place of me saying I have a platform and we got to move Beyond hashtags and black squares if we're going to make a difference.

So all of this y'all are just making my heart. Bounce really high. I'm happy to hear that. This podcast is adding value to your lives in such a significant way. So when you listen to this episode y'all been hitting me up.

Y'all love this stuff, leave some reviews on Apple honey. We need these reviews so we can help more people discover this podcast platform and help more women enter winning season. So, let me tell you, I really quickly what I've been up to these last few days, as you know, we have released these episodes consecutively in order to support the momentum that you Bill from doing this training, these three days in a row. So an side of [company], one of the things that I've been getting ready for is our monthly book club each month. We feature a book and any current or past client of 0 cap, they get to participate absolutely for free and the book club discussion.

So it's my job to create the book club questions, and have those ready for those Zoom sessions. So, this month, our featured book is atomic Habits by Seems clear. So, I've been going through my notes from reading the book. I read the physical version. I also had the audiobook version.

I tend to listen to books and read them at the same time. It just kind of works for me. So I had to go through all of my notes and get those together, so we can have this great conversation that's coming up here in a few days. In addition to that. We have this training that we're doing on the [company] side and this week, we At a training on Savvy networking in a virtual environment.

So I was able to go deep on how to build relationships on a virtual environment and it was all based on my first best-selling book, navigating the career jungle and y'all, it's been a minute since I've gone through this book. I wrote it so many years ago that it kind of Blows my mind, I wrote the book in 2016. So that was actually, I wrote it in 2013. It came out in 2014. So seven years.

Seven years ago. I wrote this book while on page 23 of navigating the career jungle. There is a part in the book where I talk about working, the room via online attendance. Meaning. How do you network and work the room virtually?

Who knew? In 2013, when I wrote this book that this section would be so applicable to what we're going through and 2020 in safe to say we'll be going through this and part of 2021 as well. So I was able to share some of the best practices and really go deep on some of the tools and techniques that I personally use. But there's even an examples of what to say when you're networking in this. So I did that this week next week, we We have a [company] training on Virtual negotiation strategy.

So we have different types of negotiation strategies that we use when we're in person. But how do you remix those? And how do you determine what someone's negotiation style is when it's virtual. So that's what we're going to be doing next week. You can find all of the trainings that we have going on at [company] on the website [company] dot C.

Oh no, um, So on top of that, I am working on my plants still. If you follow me on Instagram, you know, this quarantine has made me a plant lady and I'm vibing out on getting new plants caring for them learning how to nurture them and help them grow. So, I've been talking to the plants. I don't give them tap water. I'm getting all fancy with this plant stuff.

So I give them spring water from a bottle. So when I order my Groceries online each week. I'm also ordering enough water so that I can give my plans to the very best water. I am starting to get some droopiness on the aloe vera plant. So I'll probably spend some time watching YouTube videos.

Figuring out how to best nurture the aloe vera plant. So if you have any tips, y'all, please send the tips my way. And then lastly I shared inside of the winning season, Facebook group, the cutest cutest Video of my niece Willow she's going to be doing home school this year and she's so excited. She's gonna wear her school uniform when she's at home home schooling. So they did a science project early at school hasn't started yet, but she put her uniform on so did her sister.

She did a science project and she recorded it and she's talking to the camera and walking us through its inside of the winning season Facebook group. So y'all can go over there. Check it out when I tell you it is so So cute. I wash it like 10 times. Of course.

I'm biased it's my niece, but that's also giving me life right now. So still drinking my water. Still hydrating. Also currently in the afternoons. I'm not drinking lattes anymore.

I'm drinking a caffeine-free T. So today, right, as I record this episode. I am drinking a lemon and ginger tea with some clover honey in it. So I just wanted to give y'all updated. What I'm doing again, I want to thank y'all for the feedback for these two most recent series on the podcast.

The response has been beyond what I could have imagined. And I'm so grateful to hear that this podcast is adding value to your lives. And I request, I hope I'm urging you to share it with other people who could get value from it. Because I know there's a lot of info online and I strive when I'm delivering free information to make sure that it is actionable and I'm breaking it down and bite sized chunks. So that people can actually do the work.

And if they do the work, I know they'll see the results which is what you hear me say in these live trainings. So for those of you, if you're listening for the very first time, I know, I just gave y'all all kinds of updates about my life and such, but I wanted to update the community on what's going on. Now, what you're about to listen to just like the previous two episodes. Cells. They were recorded live inside of the winning season, Facebook group.

This was a part of a free training that I did. So, when you hear me interacting with different people of the audience, when you hear me talking to Ricky, shh and Katrina and Trace Lynn and Monique. When you hear me talk to these different people, that's because they were live inside of the Facebook group. So you're going to hear me telling people? Comment below, give me a thumbs up.

Of hashtag this. And that that's just because the context was, this was originally a live series and originally, I wasn't going to release this to the podcast. But again, thanks to Karen who reached out and said she didn't have Facebook. She wanted access to this. I went ahead and put it on the podcast.

So that's enough of me talking y'all. I'm giving you all types of updates. So, I'ma let y'all just tune in and listen. Hey, real quick before you get into the episode, grab your notebook because inside These episodes I gave you so many actionable tips that I want you to actually be able to put all of this into practice, so you can see results from it. All right.

Y'all talk to you later. What's up? Yo, happy Sunday. Whoa, let's get this stand together so I can see all what's up. What's up?

Day, three of our three-part training can't believe it. Time. Just zoom by these last three days Friday. We talked about being stuck and stressed if you Attended that session, or if you watch the replay, let me know. Comment below yesterday.

We went through the price of procrastination. How expensive it is and how ain't nobody got time for that. And today. I'm going to give you the winning season formula. So if you're just joining this training and you miss the last two after today, go back and watch those.

These videos will stay up until Tuesday at noon on. On Tuesday at noon, they're going away. So go ahead and get in on these trainings. Now, do the homework. I guarantee you, you will see results if you do the work because I've been doing this for seven years.

I know that if you follow these steps, you're going to see a change, you're going to experience success. Now, the key is don't be picking and choosing which part of your homework. You're going to do, do it. All. Even the part that you feel uncomfortable about.

Even the parts where you feel like, I'm not ready for that yet. That's how you get to the your next level and winning season doing all of those things even when you may not be ready yet. So when we talked about being stuck and stressed, I gave you five tips to move forward. So let me recap for y'all. Don't ignore problems.

That is Major. One of the things that you have heard is self, awareness is key. So don't ignore those problems, recognize them. So that you You know what you have to do to get from stuck and stressed and move to your next chapter winning season. The second thing is make plans and when I talk to you Friday about making plans, I told you that today.

I'm going to go in more detail about that. But I gave you an elite tip when you make plans of how to see success. So if you miss that Friday video, you want to go back to part one of this series and watch that. And three take action, massive radical action, is what you need to move forward. Number four, from s stress is believe in yourself.

And number five, do not compare yourself to others. Now, yesterday, when we talked about the price of procrastination. I went through the cost of presentations and I gave you three steps to move forward. One eliminate excuses. There it is.

Again, going through and increasing yourself. Wear this. And then I talk to you about getting a partner, you need an accountability partner, a coach a trainer, imbrue coaching program. You need something so that you have a higher level of accountability for those days where you really don't feel like doing it. Somebody that's going to hold your hand.

Hold your feet to the fire and help you to advance to your next chapter. And number three, and the price of procrastination. I told you that you've got to find a way to reverse. Reward yourself. It doesn't have to be expensive.

You don't have to break the bank. But you have to start creating rewards every time you accomplish those, especially if you have been struggling with procrastination, so if you're joining me live right now comment below and say I'm watching live. If you're watching the replay hit that button or type in hashtag replay. I just want to know what's up. Where y'all add?

Who's watching? I see rakeesha is on. I see Teresa is on. Hello. Hello, and I know Katie sent a message in advance that she is going to be watching the replay from today.

So, hello. Katie to you, because I got your note and I want to acknowledge you when you see this video. So today I'm about to give you all the winning season formula. Yes, if you're ready. Now.

See, I Teresa's watching live, awesome. If you're ready for this winning season formula, drop me a comment below. Hashtag. Meaning season rakeesha as see you Theresa. I see you Cheryl.

I see you. I see y'all. I see y'all all these comments. All right, if you ready for this winning season formula, go ahead and drop in the comments. Hashtag winning season.

Now, this is what I want you to get your notebooks. Okay, because I'm about to give y'all a lot of steps. The past few days. I have been giving you five steps, three steps and it's been easy for you to write down today. You're Going to have to watch this again because today I'm going to go into detail when it give you a lot more steps that you need to take for your winning season formula.

Now, you're going to have to plug in the details. But this is going to be the massive amount of work. This is where you really get to start seeing your plans, start to come together. All right, I see the comments ready? Hashtag winning season.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Well, let's hop into this, grab your notebooks. And please come back and watch this again.

Because this lesson right here today. This one you need to hear at least two times. You might need to listen to it three times because like I said, I'm about to walk through the step-by-step winning season formula. So, I have this saying that we use at [company], with our coaching clients, with our 101 clients and it's actually on my notebook. It says it doesn't matter how slow you, You go so long as you don't stop winning season.

All right, that is the winning season motto. It does not matter. How slow you go. Just as long as you don't stop. So on day one, when we talked about being stuck and stressed.

I told you do not compare yourself to the woman over there, the woman you see on Instagram, the woman you used to work with a woman you went to college with. What matters is that you keep Moving forward and as long as you can get into a Groove and rhythm of moving forward, that's where you're going to see momentum. That's where you're going to build consistently its consistency. And that is where you're going to start experiencing success in winning season. So step number one, they're winning season formula write this on your paper, write down the word, goal goaaaal.

Write that on your paper and circle it. Okay, because this is the The foundation of your winning season formula. I don't want you to write goals with an S. Just go goaaaal singular and circle that. Okay, once you write down goal on your paper.

The next thing that I want you to do is I want you to write down what it is that you want to achieve. Okay. One thing I know there's a lot we want to achieve ladies. We are ambitious, We Are Winning Season women, I That get it, but to make this winning season formula work for you. I need you to focus on a singular goal.

Okay, so write down the word goal, Circle it, and next to it. Go ahead and write one goal that you want to accomplish, got it. And when you get that written down, I want you to type our give me a thumbs up or something. So I know that you've done it so I can move on to the next part. So if you're watching the replay and you're not live, don't think about doing this later.

Go ahead. Do it now. Write down the word goal and next to it. I want you to write down one thing that you want to accomplish. I know y'all are listening.

So I want you to go ahead and write that down. That's your foundation. This is building blocks. Okay, once we get you a solid foundation, you can really start to see a different level of success now. All right.

Y'all got that written down. So, the next thing that you should do is write down the word. Why underneath the goal underneath that goal. I want you to write down the word, why? And you're going to write y 3 times.

So you'll have why number one? Why number 2 and Y, number three, underneath the gold. Now. The reason why we're going deep on why you want to Achieve a goal is because when you have Clarity, it gives you a different level of confidence. All right.

So Simon sinek, who is a leadership expert. He's most known for his TED Talks. Start with, why Simon says that people do not buy what you do. They buy why you do it? People don't start supporting you because you simply want to do something.

They support you because they believe in the Y and this is where I see a lot of people make mistakes when they want to start. And when he season, they don't understand the why they don't understand their own. Why? So you have your goal written down on your piece of paper, one goal and then you have the word. Why written down three times.

I want you to present the question to yourself. Why do I want to achieve this goal that one goal? And for that one goal. You want to write down three answers? As to why you want to achieve it.

For some people, this is going to be challenging. It might take you 10 minutes. It might take you three hours, might take you a day or two days to really think about three reasons why you want to accomplish your goal. That's okay. Take your time stick with this exercise if it feels uncomfortable.

That is okay. You're increasing your self-awareness, you're gaining the clarity and you'll be able to move forward. Now, inside of the resilient leaders program, we Go deep on this. I have work books inside of that program where we really get to unlock different aspects of what keeps you stuck, and what keeps you stressed out? And things like that.

And so those exercises in the book, they go really deep and they help you move beyond that. But this is self-paced, you're doing this by yourself because this training is outside of our normal group program. So you really need to hold yourself accountable for this and follow through. Now, once you have your Goal, and you write down your three reasons. Why?

The next thing that I want you to write on the piece of paper is how h0w and circle that how underline it write it in bold. Highlighted how this is important. Okay, we got to go. Now you're starting to get clarity and you understand your, why? All right.

I hear you Teresa. Yes and Teresa you're in the resilient leaders program. So once we kick off for August, will go really deep with you on this one and help. You pull out all the things and help you really maximize this training and get to the next level, but I still want you to do these exercises when you get home to resign. Oh, you're driving do them when you get home because this is going to help you take full advantage of the resilient leaders program and get even more.

Success out of it. Alright. So once you write down the word how you Circle it bolded highlighted whatever you gotta do, write down, one, two, three underneath, how? Because the way that you achieve a goal. There may be multiple routes in your mind.

You may think the way for me to achieve this goal is for me to do this, but oftentimes It's a combination of things. You need to do x y, Y and Z, not just a and get to be, you might have to have a combination. So when you really start getting that clarity about your goal, that one goes, that you're going to accomplish. The next thing is to write down three methods, of how you can achieve that goal. Now, listen to me carefully, y'all like, pay attention, come back to me if you'd ripped it off, if you start at multitasking.

When you think about how you're going to achieve something we often say, well, I saw such and such do it this way, or I saw on social media one day. She was here the next day, she's here. So I just need to do that. Everybody's path to success in winning season is going to look a little bit different. You can learn best practices from someone, which is what this winning season formula is.

But you got to add in your own personal details, and that's why You cannot skip this house section. You need to have multiple ways for you to achieve a goal and think outside the box. Get creative. There may be one way to achieve a goal that you know, for sure. I definitely need to do this.

But what are those other things that you can do thinking outside of the box that can help you achieve that one goal. Now, once you get those three answers for how the next thing that I want you to write down is when wh e n, not Whi and I know we talked about winning a lot. It is winning season. This is the winning season formula, but I want you to write down wwhen. So, on day 1 of this training, when I talk to you about stuck and stress.

I told you, you had to make a plan and I gave you that Elite tip for you to maximize and really get things. And so, let me give you a another Elite tip for winning season. Okay, this is what my Elite. Women do Mi women who are busting down barriers, stepping in confidence, leading. Unapologetically.

This is what they do. Okay. This is the advice that they follow. This is how they see success. So that's why I wanted you to come back listening because these are the good tips.

All right. I see you Keisha. Shoulda got you. Got you. All right.

When when are you going to do the work? So don't say this week. I'm going to do the work. You need to be more specific. If it's going to be, lets say I'm going to use the link in example because they use it at the part 1 of this training.

If one of the things, you know, you need to do is update your LinkedIn profile. Don't say, I'm going to update my LinkedIn profile by Friday. Say I'm going to update my Profile this week. And then when under the wind, I want you to get even more clarity. I want you to say, I want to update my LinkedIn profile and I'm going to work on it three times this week.

m. To 1:30. m. m. m.

m. When you get that specific and then you plug it in on your Islander and you add your coach or your accountability partner from your group coaching program to your calendar? That's what holds your foot to the fire. That's how you begin to experience different levels of success because now you're consistently taking action. Remember I told you before I started today.

It doesn't matter how slow you go so long as you don't stop hashtag winning season. If y'all following me. If you hear me go ahead and hashtag winning season. So that is the wind often times. You're going to have to have multiple dates and times under when.

So as many as you need go ahead and put them down to make sure they're on your calendar. Now, there's a couple of other things that you're going to do. Once you finish the goal, the why, the how, and the wind so? Are y'all ready for these extra tips? If you're watching live, go ahead, give me another hashtag winning season.

I could see y'all ready for these last few tips before we wrap up. Who's ready? Who's ready? Who's ready for the last few tips and this winning season formula? And, like I said, I want you to come back to this and listen to this again.

You might need to listen to it two, three times because I know I'm giving you a lot of things, and I want this to sink in. I want you to really, really get this. All right. I see you. Hashtag winning season.

So let's go. Let's move forward. So then you're going to have to think about some follow-up details, every Action that you take once you accomplish something, you're going to have to move forward. I see y'all winning season, hashtag winning season, you're going to have to add to that. These are building blocks.

These are your foundation. So once you accomplish one thing, then you're going to find yourself having a new list, right? Don't forget though. As you're accomplishing things. We talked about yesterday, the price of procrastination, that one of the elements is celebrating.

So celebrate your success along the way. Way standing your success, but you're also going to have to create your new, follow-up items. So this is like a cycle. Okay, what I want you to do is once you get this stuff done, go ahead and follow up on your next step. In might be creating goal.

Number two, walking through your, why your how your win again? The next thing is, this doesn't work. If you don't have accountability, you got to have accountability. Okay, I know. So many women who have say it.

Once I get to this point, I'm going to work with you Jacqueline. Once I do this, I'm going to get that financial advisor. Once I do this, I'm going to update that LinkedIn profile. Once I do this. I'm going to update my resume.

Listen, y'all. I've been hearing that from some people over, and over over the years. You have got to get some accountability so you can get to the next level. We talked about the price of procrastination and how Just pushing off your professional and personal growth can cost you late fees on bills. It can cause you missed opportunities because your resume is an updated you miss this.

Awesome job opportunity. It can cost you. If you fail to learn how to negotiate on, almost a half a million dollars over the course of your career. So I don't want you to feel like I'm in just do all of this by myself. You need some accountability and it doesn't have to be me.

It can be somebody else. Y'all in the winning season Community? I already love y'all. I'm here for youth. So I'm not saying this just for you to work with me.

I'm saying this because I know it is true. You need accountability. Alright, so the next thing I want you to write down and this is also super super important. You need a plan to get back on track because if you don't have a plan for when life, throws you a okeydoke for you to get back into the groove and get back to this rhythm of working on. Our goals, then you're going to find yourself procrastinating and you're going to find yourself years down the line, trying to figure out how to come back.

So, on the day, one of the training I told you when you're talking about being stressed and stuck when you're in traffic, what happens? You don't sit there and be like, I'm gonna quit my job because I'm in traffic. No girl. No one does that? What we do is we figure out one.

What's going on. Is there an accident? It's a construction. What is it? And Then you pull up the GPS and you get a new plan.

Even if you've never taken that route before and now you're open to it. Now you're being creative because you got to get to your destination. And then what happens you inch forward piece by piece until you can get off of exit and take your alternative route. That is what you have to remember with. Your winning season.

Formula life is going to come at you, that's going to happen. But then you have to have that knowledge that wherewithal to Alright, if I was sitting in traffic, I would find another way. And that's what you have to do with your goals for winning season. All right, does that make sense to y'all? Let me know, give me some comments.

Let me know. Let me know, give me some hearts, some something, so I can see that makes sense. So, what next? So I'm just giving you the winning season formula. Like I said, I want you to come back and listen to this again.

If you have not butcher 15-minute call with me. It's no cost to you for us to talk about. You're winning season strategy. So I can also tell you about the resilient leaders program. Go ahead and book your free 15 minute call with me so that we can get you the information you need so that you can create your own plan and execute it for continuous winning season.

All right, so the link to that is in the comments below. I'll drop that in. Go ahead, grab tips. He minutes on my calendar. You will not be talking to my That you will be talking to me this go round and you can come back and watch this entire series.

If you miss any part of the series come back and watch part 1 2 and 3 of the training by Tuesday at noon inside of the winning season. Facebook group at noon. It's going to disappear on Tuesday. So you want to go ahead listen to all three, do all the homework because what I know for sure is that if you do this work, you will See results. Period.

I've been doing this for a long time. I know when the women follow this formula, when they do the work, they're going to see results. So, this is what I want y'all to do. I want you to let me know and one week of you consistently following these steps. I want you to come back in here and I want you to let me know what you accomplished, as a result of going through this free three-part training.

All right, so my friends, this is it. I can't believe it. Winter is three days, like, boom. I can't wait to hear what happens next. I cannot wait to hear your winning season success stories.
